Buggy beat

Buggy Beat is a fitness class for not only postnatal mums, anyone who looks after a young child is welcome - parents, carers, aunts, uncles, grandparents, childminders and nannies!

These classes are low impact classes, with modifications available to progress when you feel ready.

 

There is no pressure to complete a full workout, if you are coming to the class and joining in or if getting out of the house with your buggy and baby is all you can manage then that is amazing! It is also absolutely fine to stop and attend to your little one at any time.

A great opportunity to make new friends and workout with like-minded people!

 

Postnatal mums must have had their 6-8 – 8-10 (post c-section) week check with a medical professional before joining a class. This is to ensure that it is safe to resume or commence exercise.

There are two classes on the current timetable. Both run on a Monday at

10.00am and 11.15am.

Lift Lean™ is a strength training programme using kettlebells in a group fitness class format.
 

You will build muscle, increase bone strength, strengthen the whole body, burn calories, build confidence and leave feeling amazing!

Participants bring their own kettlebells and exercise mats to every class. Beginners normally use a 4kg-6kg kettlebell, but you will be surprised at how quickly you progress.

Here are some benefits of training with kettlebells:

Full-body workout:

Kettlebell exercises target multiple muscle groups at once, helping to build strength, tone and burn calories efficiently

 

Improved cardiovascular health:

The dynamic nature of kettlebell workouts, raises your heart rate, improving cardiovascular endurance

Many kettlebell moves engage the core, helping to improve stability, posture and balance

 

Increased flexibility and mobility:

Kettlebell exercises involve a wide range of motion, which can improve flexibility, especially in the hips, shoulders and back.

 

Efficient fat burning:

Kettlebell training combines strength and cardio, making it a highly effective way to burn fat and build muscle!

fitness pilates

Fitness Pilates™️ is a group exercise class using the original teachings, principals and exercises of Joseph Pilates delivered in a modern and functional group exercise session.
 

Fitness Pilates addresses basic postural imbalances, improves back and core strength and enhances mobility and flexibility in a non-intimidating, fun and enjoyable class set to music.

 

It is an all-inclusive programme designed to strengthen weaker areas of the body and is suitable for all levels of fitness and general healthy adult.

Classes can be a mix of bodyweight only moves and also moves using small equipment, such as the Pilates mini ball or light weights.

 

*Fitness Pilates is NOT a rehab class and unsuitable for individuals with diagnosed muscular-skeletal issues that require one to one clinical application*

Power Circuits is a circuit style class with different ‘stations’.

We work to timed intervals and motivating music!
 

A variety of exercises are planned to work the whole body with modifications available.


Using a combination of bodyweight and equipment based exercises, you will get a great workout! There are sometimes a few surprise challenges but these always get people smiling!

A fun, friendly and welcoming class, suitable for all fitness levels!

We are currently trialling a block booking system for this class.

You can now book a 6 week block, where you will get 6 classes for the price of 5.

No need to book individual sessions as you are automatically added to the sessions within the set block dates.

Class booking

ALL classes must be booked in advance using the calendar below or the Gymcatch app. 
You are required to bring your own equipment for Lift Lean and Fitness Pilates classes. 

Buggy Beat, Fitness Pilates and Lift Lean run as ‘block’ courses (where you sign up to attend every week for a set timeframe - usually 5 weeks).

On some occasions, pay as you go classes are available on these courses, subject to availability.
